Welcome to my Hocus Pocus Party! This theme is so much fun for a spooky Birthday, Baby Shower or Halloween Party. Channel your inner Sanderson Sister and learn how you can make your own DIY Hocus Pocus Party for your event.

This post will be an overall summary of what went into designing and making the party come to life. If you have questions or want me to go into more detail on specifics, let me know in the comments and I would be happy to make a blog all about it. There will be another post showing where I got everything for the party so you can find it too.

Decorations

Backdrop

My Hocus Pocus party backdrop is a basic purple tablecloth (Dollar Tree). I used chalk to make a outline for my potion smoke effect. You can find the tissue pom poms at Dollar Tree, I cut them in half to make double the amount. to highlight texture and “bubbles” I add balloons and a star banner (wish). Top everything with my I smell a child Banner.

Party Table

I decided to keep my table front simple. I used a plastic black tablecloth (Dollar Tree) and a spider web fabric table cloth in a triangle. Adding a shine with a copper circle banner (Dollar Tree) worked so nicely. The top of the party table filled up quickly, but if you look closely you can see my silver place mats.

Table Decorations

Table decorations are one of my passions. From left to right, add tombstones!! the Sanderson sisters spent so much time in cemeteries they work so perfectly. Help elevate your party food or décor try adding books that fit the theme. This black cool looking one is actually Hitch hikers guide to the galaxy. Nestled in between the Hocus Pocus cupcakes and Black Flame Candle you can see a character cutout of Sarah Sanderson. My Black Flame candle is the easiest Hocus Pocus decoration and super affordable! The candle is black (Dollar Tree) and I created a printable you can Modge-podge the paper right to your candle. I found it needed to be higher on the table so I flipped a wine glass and hid the base with flowers. Sitting in front are the official Hocus Pocus cookies (Target).

You need pumpkins on your Hocus Pocus party table so I added some little ones I picked up from a local pumpkin patch. Another tombstone evened out the table. You’ll also need a BOOOooooOOOoook to complete your table. You can find your own spellbook in my shop, Its available in Sketchbook and notebook. The right side of the table held more sweets! Including witch popcorn mix (Target) topped with witch hats (Dollar Tree), and a huge chocolate cauldron (Harry Potter World). My table also included little Thank you Cauldrons for kids to take home.

I had a special guest during this party! No Ordinary Balloon Man came and made me a Binx Balloon for the table! His name is Bruce and he’s available in Orlando, FL and the surrounding areas! Just look at how cute Binx is! I used old books so show him off behind everything else. He also made a Witch broom for my little toddler witch!

Now to what every DIY Hocus Pocus Party needs, A BLACK CAULDRON! I found this cute one from Target, It came with this perfect green slime potion punch!

Here is how I made my own DIY Nightmare before Christmas Party. This post will be an overall summary of what went into designing and making the party come to life. Decorations

Backdrop

Creating this look was pretty fun and super easy for you to replicate. I first hung a black plastic table cloth up and taped Orange, Yellow, White and Purple Streamers to make the stripes. The perfect Skeleton balloons (Party City) are among other color balloons to tie into the banner. You can find the “This is Halloween” Banner as a Freebie with your Nightmare Before Christmas Alphabet Banner. Don’t forget to add the spooky cobwebs.

Party Table

Nightmare before Christmas is one of my favorite Spooky movies! I have always been a fan of the people eater wreath too, making it a printable was necessary. I used a black and Orange table cloth to ground the table, topped with a sheer dotted fabric and a simple black plastic table cloth. Last minute I decided it needed some cuts along the bottom. A easy change to make with a pair of scissors.

Table Decorations

From left to right, for the cupcake tower I used printable wrapping paper (you can find here) to make a stack of presents. The cupcakes are wrapped just like presents too! Each Cupcake is topped with an adorable Nightmare before Christmas Cupcake Topper.

If you have been following us for a while you’ll know I have a DIY Sally Jars Tutorial. I have used the same jars in my table scape. Each jar is filled with simple Dollar Tree Halloween Flowers. You can find the table Character Cutout Printables in my shop to help decorate your table.

If your a fan of Halloween you already have tombstones in your house. I happened to have these ones and thought they would be perfect for the table. Jack ends up in a graveyard more then once in the movie, making them perfect for the party.

DIY Nightmare Before Christmas Party Menu:

1. Zombie Cupcakes (Target) Orange icing and Halloween sprinkles
2. Pumpkin Jack cookies (Target) Guine and I made them ourselves
3. Boogie Candy (Dollar Tree)

I decided to keep this party simple since kids are going to be getting TONS of candy on Halloween.

The perfect favor for an Nightmare Before Christmas party are goodie pumpkins. Let your guests pick some candy and fill up their buckets. I found these cuties at the Dollar Tree. I attached thank you skull tags to each pumpkin to thank my guests for attending.

If your throwing a Nightmare Before Christmas party channel your inner Jack or Sally to add to the fun. Guine dressed up in the latest redesign of Sally and Archi is wearing the new and improved Jack Tee. These are available in Onesie (NB-18 Months) & Toddler Tees (2T-4T)
